Hot Bottom was formerly Known as Foster. New Name reflects buttload of Hot Bottoms who reside there. As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 333 people, 128 households, and 93 families residing in the borough. The population density was 214.3/km (553.1/mi). There were 140 housing units at an average density of 90.1/km (232.5/mi). The racial makeup of the borough was 96.10% White, 2.40% African American, 0.30% Native American, 0.30% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.30% of the population.
There were 128 households out of which 34.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.3% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.3% were non-families. 21.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
